Caramel Apple Sangria is the perfect white sangria for fall! White wine and apple cider are the base for this easy, crowd-pleasing fall sangria, and it’s perfect for Thanksgiving!

I first tried something like this Caramel Apple Cider sangria at a local winery here in Kansas City. And I loved the idea, but I didn’t love NOT love their sangria. It was SO sweet that it was hard to drink more than one glass. I knew I could make it better at home!

The festive flavors in this sangria make it a great match for any fall party or event in November, especially Thanksgiving!

Making this White Thanksgiving Sangria very simple! Simply find a large pitcher, jug or punch bowl. Combine all of the ingredients together.

Cut up fresh Granny Smith apples and red Honeycrisp apples into apple slices (or cubes) and layer them into the pitcher. Then, pour the liquid over the top.

Recipe Modifications

Of course, you can modify this recipe! Here are a few suggestions:

  • Use sparkling apple cider if you can find it to add bubbles.
  • Use cranberry juice for 1-2 cups of the apple juice, or another fruit juice of your choice.
  • Add seasonal fruit for extra color.
  • Replace some of the vodka with apple brandy, triple sec, Cointreau, Grand Marnier or any orange liqueur.
  • Instead of soda water, you can use ginger ale or ginger beer for a sweeter taste.
  • For a sweeter sangria, a 1/4 cup of simple syrup, maple syrup or honey will do the trick! You can also use a sweeter wine which I discuss below.

My preference, and what I recommend in the recipe below, is a dry white wine rather than red wine. I used a crisp white wine (Sauvignon Blanc), but I think Pinot Grigio would also work well! The dry white wine combined with the sweet apple cider and caramel flavoring was just right for me.

But, this is your sangria! If you’d like to use a sweeter wine, do so! A moscato or white zinfandel would work nicely.

Serving Suggestions

It’s up to you! I kept it chilled in the refrigerator until it was time to serve, so it was cold for appetizers and up to room temperature by Thanksgiving Dinner.

I think recipe is the perfect fall cocktail for Halloween parties, your Thanksgiving table or any fall gathering! If you want to go all out on the caramel apple flavor, you could pair this autumn white sangria recipe with Caramel Apple Dip, Apple Cider Mimosas or Caramel Apple Dump Cake!

Or pair it with other fall flavors! For your main course, I recommend this Harvest Salad, Apple Cider Roasted Turkey Legs or my Apple Cider Chicken Thighs!

For dessert, try this Easy Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Dump Cake or my Pumpkin Cake.

Thanksgiving Sangria Garnish Options

If you’d like to provide a garnish for your guest’s cups, here are a few ideas:

  • Fresh apples or sliced pears on a stir stick or popsicle stick. I like Honeycrisp apples best.
  • An unwrapped caramel candy on a stir stick.
  • Whole cinnamon sticks.
  • Fresh cranberries (not to eat, but pretty for garnish)!
  • Pomegranate seeds.
  • Fresh orange slices.
  • Whole star anise.
  • A sugar rim or a cinnamon-sugar rum.
