This Caramel Apple Dump Cake recipe only requires five ingredients. It tastes like a rich and delicious apple pie!
It's no secret I'm a huge fan of dump cakes like this Caramel Apple Dump Cake. I love my KitchenAid mixer, but if I can just dump stuff in a pan and pop it in the oven, I'm one happy chick! One of the most popular desserts on this site is my Fresh Blackberry Dump Cake.
I also put together a Black Forest Dump Cake for all you chocolate cherry fans. But, I have been mulling over another fall dump cake recipe for a while now.
Should I do pear? Apple? Then, a bolt of lightening hit me.
I need to make a Caramel Apple Dump Cake. Like right now. Like today!
When this idea came to me, we were on our way a friends house for my husband's fantasy football draft party.
I hustled to the grocery store to get the five ingredients and get the cake in the oven while we got ready to leave.
You know what, it just isn't right how good this Caramel Apple Dump Cake tastes considering how easy it is!
Fall desserts are the best. For me, it doesn't get better than pumpkin or apple desserts with LOTS of spice! I don't know many people who don't love fall desserts.
So, having an easy dump cake recipe for fall in your back pocket is pretty handy!
How to Make Caramel Apple Dump Cake
Putting this caramel apple cake together couldn't be easier. Just add apple pie filling to your 9x13'' pan, drop a few bits of caramel in, top with cake mix, and then top with pats of butter!
Then, it's ready to bake!
The filling and the butter combine to moisten the cake mix and cook it. It forms a crust that's like a cobbler, but a heck of a lot easier.
I'm happy to say this dump cake recipe was absolutely gobbled up at the party!
I hope this becomes your favorite fall dessert recipe, remember to let me know how you liked it in the comments!

My husband would love this, but he is gluten free. Has anyone tried this with a gluten free boxed cake mix?

Hi Becca- I've made this with gluten free box cake mix with good results. You may want to add just a bit more butter to the top... the gluten free mix seems extra starchy and just needs a little more help to get gooey! :)
