I also put together a Black Forest Dump Cake for all you chocolate cherry fans. But, I have been mulling over another fall dump cake recipe for a while now.
Should I do pear? Or a warm Apple Spice Dump Cake for autumn? Then, a bolt of lightening hit me.

How to Make Caramel Apple Dump Cake
Putting this caramel apple cake together couldn’t be easier. Just add apple pie filling to your 9×13” pan, drop a few bits of caramel in, top with cake mix, and then top with pats of butter or melted butter!
For this recipe, I used caramel bits that I found in the baking aisle. But you could also use diced up homemade caramels! I can’t even imagine how delicious they would make this caramel apple cobbler!
Then, it’s ready to bake!
The filling and the butter combine to moisten the cake mix and cook it. It forms a crust that’s like a cobbler, but a heck of a lot easier.
I’m happy to say this dump cake recipe was absolutely gobbled up at the party!
I hope this becomes your favorite fall dessert recipe, remember to let me know how you liked it in the comments!

Can this be made ahead of time and stored
Yes it can! Get it as air tight as you can and store at room temperature for up to 3 days.
My husband would love this, but he is gluten free. Has anyone tried this with a gluten free boxed cake mix?
Hi Becca- I’ve made this with gluten free box cake mix with good results. You may want to add just a bit more butter to the top… the gluten free mix seems extra starchy and just needs a little more help to get gooey! 🙂
