Let’s talk about the most addictive appetizer you’ll ever make: Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies. Just three ingredients transform into bites of pure magic that’ll have your guests hovering around the appetizer table all night long! Trust me, you’ll want to make a double batch!

These little bites of heaven aren’t your average party snack – they hit every perfect note of sweet, salty, and smoky in one perfectly caramelized package. Each juicy little sausage gets wrapped in crispy bacon and coated in brown sugar that creates a glaze for the most incredible flavor combination you can imagine.

I’m super excited to share this recipe because it’s one of those low-effort appetizers that are packed in flavor yet makes entertaining a breeze. And while they might look fancy, they’re actually one of the easiest appetizers you can make – perfect for everything from game day to potlucks to holiday gatherings!

Ingredients Needed

Here’s what you need to make the easiest bacon wrapped little smokies recipe!

  • Little Smokies: These cocktail-sized smoked sausages provide the perfect foundation and are great to pick up with a toothpick for sharing!
  • Bacon: Regular-cut bacon is key here. Avoid thick cut as it won’t crisp up as nicely.
  • Brown Sugar: Light or dark brown sugar work well. Dark brown sugar will provide a deeper molasses flavor!

Substitutions & Additions

Since this bacon wrapped smokies recipe just uses three ingredients, there are only a few changes I would make if you needed to!

  • For a slightly lighter option, you can opt to use turkey little smokies!
  • You can substitute the little smokies with cut-up hot dogs or polish sausage pieces in a pinch, though the texture won’t be quite the same.
  • Turkey bacon can work in place of regular bacon but won’t render as much fat or provide the same rich flavor.
  • If you prefer, you can omit the brown sugar, but I think it creates the perfect balance of flavors and lets everything caramelize beautifully!

How to Make the Best Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies

  1. Preheat: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prep the Sheet Pan: Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Prep Bacon: Cut the bacon into 3rds.
  4. Wrap: Take each sausage and wrap with bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
  5. Sprinkle with Brown Sugar: Place onto the parchment and sprinkle the little smokies with the brown sugar.
  6. Bake: Bake 25-30 minutes, watching carefully for the last 5 minutes of cook time.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the toothpicks and serve.

Tips for Success

  • Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet! It is best to leave some space between each piece to ensure that the bacon gets nice and crispy!
  • Secure the bacon wrap on both ends if needed, if the piece of bacon isn’t wrapping well. Just don’t forget to remove the toothpicks before serving!
  • To help the bacon adhere better, you can pat the little smokies dry with paper towels before you start wrapping them.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking!

Serving Suggestions

I absolutely love these little brown sugar smokies on their own, but they would also go great with a dipping sauce like honey mustard, BBQ sauce (you can try my pineapple BBQ sauce!), or even maple syrup!

For parties, you can serve them hot or warm on a platter with toothpicks. They pair wonderfully with other party favorites like homemade Pizza Rolls to have a full spread! Here are some of my favorite appetizers to pair them with:

For dessert, try making Mini Chocolate Cheesecakes or Stuffed Strawberries!

Storage Suggestions

Store leftover bacon-wrapped little smokies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them on a baking sheet in a 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes until heated through and the bacon crisps up again. This can also be done in the air fryer.

Avoid microwaving, if possible, as this can make the bacon soggy.

These can also be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking – just add the brown sugar right before putting them in the oven!
