Cranberry Moscow Mules
Why not mix up the clsasic l Moscow mule for the holiday season? This cranberry mule recipe is the perfect holiday cocktail.
This fantastic cranberry Moscow mule recipe was an original here on my blog! I’ve updated it a bit throughout the years, but I maintain that it’s a CLASSIC for the holiday months of November and December. It fits equally well for Thanksgiving or Christmas celebrations.
“This is super delicious and easy. It’s a big hit at parties!” – Vera, Pinterest User, Cranberry Moscow Mule recipe review

I designed this cranberry cocktail recipe to be a twist on the traditional Moscow mule. My intention was for it to make a single cocktail, but you can absolutely make an entire pitcher by multiplying the ingredients below by 8 to make 8 servings, which will fill a pitcher.

Recipe Substitutions
These Christmas Moscow Mules are super flexible and have plenty of substitutions! Here are a few suggestions that I’ve tried:
- I recommend using fresh lime juice, but you can absolutely substitute lime syrup. Just know the drink will be a bit sweeter!
- You have total flexibility on what alcohol you use. Substitute gin, rum, whiskey or tequila for the vodka.
- Instead of ginger beer, you can use ginger ale.
- To make the drink lighter, add a hearty splash of club soda. Extra bubbles and lighter tastes!
- For a less sweet cocktail, substitute unsweetened cranberry juice for the cranberry cocktail, which is sweetened.
“Thanksgiving was so great thanks to these!” – Asia

Garnish Options
I think these beautiful Cranberry Moscow Mules are perfect garnished with a sprig of rosemary and fresh cranberries, which will float!
If you don’t have fresh rosemary, try fresh mint or a sprig of thyme. A lime wedge is also a great garnish option.
“Made these for Christmas Day. Big hit and looked so pretty.” – Erica

Serving Suggestions
If you need another festive cocktail to serve at your holiday parties, I recommend my Cranberry Bourbon Cocktail (which is bright red), or my Apple Cider Mimosas.
For appetizers, my Cranberry Party Meatballs, Cranberry Turkey Sliders and this sweet Cranberry Cream Cheese Dip are the perfect pairings!
If you’re planning lighter appetizers, I recommend my Turkey Veggie Tray or this beautiful Christmas Charcuterie Wreath.

Let me know if you plan to make this Cranberry Moscow Mule cocktail for your friends and family this Thanksgiving!

Thanks for sharing! It is so pretty too! How far ahead of time can I mix them?
Thanks so much! I think you’d be safe to mix them up to a day in advance and refrigerate, since there aren’t any carbonated ingredients! 🙂 Good luck!
This looks so good! I love how simple the ingredients are and how quickly it could be made at a party!

I love any kind of mule — and just for the record, my mom always told me to remember “illegitimis non carborundum” and in my head it helps sometimes when being around people who are jerks. My other thought is to just feel sorry for them because they don’t know any better and think about all the people who love you and think you rock.
Your Mom is my kinda lady. That’s great! I’m an extreme example of an empath, so even if I can rationalize away how “wrong” the person is, I feel the negativity very deeply in my gut! Hard to shake off, but your Mom’s words might help in the future. 😉

Oh my goodness, I don’t know how you kept your cool with that guy. What a buffoon! Dealing with someone like him sounds like a reason to come home and drink one of these gorgeous mules! 🙂
Unfortunately, I deal with buffoons like him pretty often in my industry. Practice makes perfect. 🙂
Serious yummz for this recipe!!
Thank you Gerry! 🙂
Well that guy sounds like no fun at all. Sorry you had to put up with that! But at least it helped you make this drink because it looks fabulous!

How sippable!!
I wholeheartedly agree! Thanks Megan!
Those are horrible things to say! I’m glad you have your side passion to keep you going — I am lucky in that I actually DO love my job, though in the past, at prior jobs, I’ve felt the exact same way you do.
Thanks Maris. My job (and coworkers) are great, but sometimes the people I interact with in the industry are detestable. You’re so right though, my side passion helps me channel and remove all that negative energy!
I love this drink as much as I don’t love noisy guys. Looks great, Michelle.
You’re the greatest. Thanks, Christine. 🙂
I love this drink! I think we all have that “noisy guy” at work with verbal diarrhea! lol
Thanks Derek! You’re right, they exist everywhere. In the trash industry, they exist in DROVES! It’s bananas.
