This Easy Air Fryer Turkey Breast is ready in less than an hour! A simple herb seasoning and SO much flavor, you'll think it was deep fried!
One of my favorite sayings is "where there's a will, there's a way!" I believe that if you care about something enough, you'll find a way to make it happen. And since I got an air fryer earlier this year, I've been wanting to try to make Air Fryer Turkey Breast happen.
Turkey breasts are risky business. They're incredibly low in fat, which is good for health and not so good for.... flavor. I know that we all want to lower our fat intake, but doing it at the expense of good flavor is something that I struggle with.
The first time I used the air fryer was to make chicken wings. And damn if they weren't delicious! The wings tasted like I had deep fried them. So, the wheels started turning.
What if I did a turkey breast in the air fryer? It's super easy prep; no oil to heat. And air frying makes food tasting. Baking turkey breast.... not so much.
This Air Fryer Turkey Breast turned out GREAT! The spice rub was delicious and the meat was juicy and tender. The only thing I would consider doing differently in the future is injecting the meat for even more flavor.
If you're interested in injecting the turkey breast before you air fry it, I have an AMAZING injection recipe here in my Deep Fried Cajun Turkey recipe! This injection marinade is simple, using mostly pantry ingredients, and can be made in just a few minutes.
If you do inject your turkey breast, you can do it right before you air fry, or up to 8 hours prior to give the liquid more time to season the meat.
- 1 (3 pound) boneless turkey breast roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp thyme, dried
- ½ tsp black pepper
Set the air fryer to 360 degrees.
In a small bowl, mix dry seasonings together.
Rub turkey breast in oil.
Season turkey breast on all sides with dry seasoning blend.
Place turkey breast in air fryer basket.
Air fry for 45 minutes to 1 hour, turning turkey breast every 5-10 minutes to avoid burning.
Your cooking time will depend on the power of your air fryer, so be sure to measure doneness with an instant read thermometer. When the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees, it is done.
Allow the turkey to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing, to allow the juices time to redistribute.
You will need a larger capacity (6 or 8 quart) air fryer to fit the turkey breast and leave room for the air to circulate.
