Halloween Baked Brie (Jack O’Lantern)
This Halloween Baked Brie is a festive and easy snack for a Halloween party! Made with just three easy ingredients.
Today’s post is not so much a recipe, as it is a technique! I’m trying to go a little more “short form” these days, especially with videos. If I try to write a thousand words, and make a three-minute-long video, and take hundreds of photos, it takes forever. Sometimes my Type A personality gets in the way. But not today! I’m posting this Halloween Baked Brie recipe as it is, because it’s just so dang easy to make and perfect served with spooky cocktails like a Vampire’s Kiss Cocktail or Hocus Pocus Mocktail!
Making fun Halloween snacks like this Jack O’Lantern Shaped appetizer for Halloween is usually fun and easy, something you can absolutely do with the kids.
My son and I love making this recipe, and Monster Eyeball Cupcakes and Jalapeno Mummy Poppers for Halloween ever year!

This Halloween Baked Brie is absolutely adorable, and super simple to make! I’m including the steps and a short instructional video below. Get as creative as you’d like when cutting the face out of the puff pastry!
Recipe Variations
And yes, this baked brie technique would work well for other shapes. Cut out stars, Christmas trees, or hearts. Knock yourself out! A cookie cutter can be used to cut out the dough if you have a festive shape you like!
You can also choose to fill the cut out shape with a dark jam (after baking). Think of a dark plum jam, or a bright red cherry jam! Or, orange marmalade for a pumpkin.
Halloween Baked Brie (Jack O’Lantern Shape)
Ingredients
- 1 prepared pie crust, thawed
- 1 8 ounce brie round
- 1-2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Lay the round of thawed, prepared pie crust (or puff pastry) on a greased baking tray.
- Use a pairing knife to carefully cut out the Jack O'Lantern face, peeling away the cut dough from the shapes.
- Place the brie round over the top of the cut-out face, then top the brie round with 1-2 tablespoons or honey or jam.
- Fold the extra dough on the sides and bottom of the round up and over the back of the brie to seal in the honey or jam, then flip over.
- Use the extra dough on the top to twist into a pumpkin stem shape. At this time, you can use your pairing knife to carve extra lines in the stem or pumpkin body, if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the dough is starting to turn golden brown, and the brie is soft.
- Serve with crackers or bread.
