Ginger White Wine Spritzer
I love this twist on the classic white wine spritzer! This easy white wine spritzer recipe is made with ginger and lime, perfect for hot summer days.
Have you ever made a refreshing white wine spritzer? I think it’s about the easiest cocktail you can make in the hot summer months! As an added bonus, it’s a super EASY cocktail to make. People like spritzers like this drink made with white wine and ginger ale because they’re a lighter choice with lower alcohol content and fewer calories.
To be honest, I think the best spritzers are made with a bottle of white wine that you don’t absolutely love, since the wine is mixed with a few other simple ingredients. Dry wine is my preference because it gives the cocktail a crisp taste, but feel free to use your favorite white wine!

For this easy summer cocktail, you just need a few ingredients other than the wine. I like to use club soda or Topo Chico and ginger ale. It’s light and so refreshing, definitely my drink of choice in the summer!
As far as equipment needed, I keep it simple! You do not need a cocktail shaker for this recipe, but if you enjoy using one, by all means, use one! A simple stir of the ingredients is typically enough to get your spritzer mixed.

Recipe Substitutions and Adaptations
I cannot stress enough how easy it is to customize this white wine spritzer recipe! Here are a few ideas:
- Make a fruity spritzer by adding fruit juice or fresh fruit for garnish and extra flavor! Fresh pineapple, blood oranges, fresh berries, lime or lemon slice, a grapefruit slice are all great options. Fresh lemon juice or lime juice are also delicious additions!
- Use regular ginger ale or ginger beer instead of diet ginger ale if you prefer it. You can also use lemon lime soda!
- Garnish with fresh herbs! Rosemary, mint and fresh basil are great pairing options.
- For the mixer, any type of fizzy water will work. Plain club soda, topo chico or mineral water are all great choices. You can also use tonic water. I don’t love the flavor, but if you do, use it!
- Add a splash of simple syrup for extra sweetness
What Type of White Wine Should I Use?
I think the best wine for this recipe is a dry white wine such as a sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio. More floral or herbaceous white wines are good choices as well! You could also choose to use a sweet white wine like a sweet moscato or an unoaked chardonnay. It’s completely up to you!
For me, the sweetness of the ginger ale is enough balanced with dry white wines.

Serving Suggestions
This classic drink is a popular choice for a hot day! You can premix the ingredients and serve it as a batch in a pitcher. Or, set out a bottle of wine in an ice chest alongside wine glasses and the mixers! This will allow everyone to mix their spritzer to their own perfect balance. Set out a tray of various garnishes and a long cocktail spoon for mixing and let everyone garnish to their heart’s content!
If you need garnish ideas, fresh peach slices, strawberries and fresh mint are all excellent with this ginger white wine sangria!
Some recipes that would pair great with this Ginger White Wine Spritzer cocktail are my Avocado Pico De Gallo, Crab Ceviche and Buffalo Chicken Tortilla Pinwheels.
