Spooky Halloween Oreo Truffles
These fun Halloween treats are just so easy to make! Made with Oreo cookie crumbs and perfect for your Halloween party.
What I call ‘Spooky Season’ is my very favorite time of the year. My husband and I spend our October watching scary movies and we go all out for Halloween! These Halloween Oreo Truffles are just the cutest, and they’re actually pretty easy to whip up.
I’m picturing these in rows on a Halloween charcuterie board alongside some Mini Mummy Dogs, or in treat bags for a festive seasonal treat! I hope that you enjoy them as much as we have.

Recipe Substitutions
It’s easy to make Oreo truffle balls and there are plenty of ways you can make them your own! Here are a few ideas:
- Instead of golden Oreos, use regular chocolate Oreo cookies, or any seasonal flavor that you enjoy!
- You are welcome to substitute dairy free cream cheese if needed.
- If you can’t find black melting chocolate, use dark chocolate and a few drops of oil-based food coloring. You can also dye white chocolate candy melts or white almond bark with the black dye.
- For the food coloring, I think that gel or concentrated food coloring works best to provide bold color without thinning the Oreo mixture or coating.

Recipe Variations
Switch this recipe up with one of these ideas:
- Try red and black for a vampire theme. Or neon green for “slime”! Or all orange for pumpkin!
- Add a handful of white chocolate chips to the dough for extra chocolate flavor.
- Mix crushed pretzels into the dough for a salty crunch.
- Turn into cake pops by inserting sticks into the dough before chilling. This also makes them easier to dip!
- Drizzle with melted, colored candy melts for extra flair. I recommend orange, purple or green.
- Add edible eyes to turn them into monster truffles!

Tips & Tricks for Perfect Halloween Oreo Balls
Making these Halloween treats is actually pretty easy! But there are a few things you should know to make sure it goes as smoothly as possible. Here they are:
- Use a food processor to crush Oreos and mix with cream cheese for the smoothest texture.
- Chill the truffle balls before dipping so they stay firm.
- Work in batches, melted chocolate can seize if it gets too cool while dipping.
- Add sprinkles right after dipping (before chocolate sets) so they stick.
- Set on wax paper or parchment to prevent sticking.

Serving Suggestions
I like to serve these Halloween Truffles cold or slightly chilled, so the coating stays nice and crisp.
If you need another fun treat to serve for Halloween, I recommend my Halloween Baked Brie , some spooky Halloween donuts or these Air Fryer Halloween Mummy Dogs.

Storage Tips
Store your Halloween Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week!
These can also be made ahead and frozen (before decorating) for up to two weeks. Just thaw in the fridge before dipping. I would recommend you avoid stacking them when freezing, unless you place parchment paper in between them.
I hope that you love this spooky Halloween Oreo Truffle recipe! If you make them, let me know how they turned out in the comments below.
