There is no better summer dessert than these Sweet Tea Grilled Peaches! Serve on a hot summer day with vanilla bean ice cream.

I’m getting excited for peach season with this new recipe! Fresh peaches are my favorite, and when they’re grilled, I like them even more!

Grilling softens the peach and brings out its juiciness, and the char marks are the perfect contrast in flavor to the sweetness of the peach!

I like to serve these Sweet Tea Grilled Peaches with grilled pork chops and a glass of iced tea. It’s the perfect combination or delicious southern flavors. But they’re a fantastic grilled dessert idea, as well.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Fresh peaches: For the best results, use fresh peaches that are ripe but not overly soft.
  • Sweet tea: I used store-bought sweet tea, but feel free to use your favorite homemade sweet tea recipe!
  • Brown Sugar

How to Grill Peaches

Grilling peaches is easy! We’ll need a grill that is prepared to medium heat, which is about 325 to 350 degrees.

  • Halve the peaches and remove the pit.
  • In a small saucepan, make the sweet tea glaze.
  • Grill for about 4 minutes per side, occasionally basting with the sweet tea glaze. You can find the instructions for the sweet tea glaze in the recipe card below!

The sweet tea glaze is the perfect complement for the peach flavor, but you can always modify and add to it to make it yours!

Here are several different variations to the glaze recipe that I have tried.

  • Add cinnamon to the sweet tea glaze for extra depth.
  • Substitute honey or maple syrup for the brown sugar.
  • Add 1 tablespoon melted butter to the finished glaze to make it extra glossy.
  • Add 1 teaspoon vanillla extract.
  • Add 1 tablespoon peach liqueur.
  • Add fresh basil or fresh mint on top of the finished, grilled peaches.
  • Use sweet peach tea instead of normal sweet tea for extra peachy flavor!

Serving Suggestions

I love to serve these grilled peaches and their yummy sweet tea glaze with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

These grilled peaches also make a decadent side dish when served with barbecued pork like these Marinated Grilled Pork Chops and Grilled Corn On the Cob in Foil.

If you have leftover grilled peaches, you can store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days. These are delicious eaten cold as a snack, or can be reheated in the microwave at 25% power.

Leftover peaches are excellent sliced and added to a fresh salad.

We use a charcoal grill, but you can certainly use your gas grill. If you’d like to do this recipe inside, use a grill pan on your stovetop over medium-high heat.

Make these delicious Sweet Tea Grilled Peaches for a wonderful summer treat!

  • 2 fresh peaches, halved, pit removed
  • 1 cup prepared sweet tea
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  1. Prepare grill to medium heat, about 324 to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Clean and oil the grill grates.
  2. Place peaches cut side down onto grates over direct heat.
  3. Grill for 4-5 minutes without moving, until grill marks and char begin to show on the flesh of the peach.
  4. Flip the peaches, and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the glaze by combining the sweet tea and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat until it starts to bubble, then reduce the heat to low. Allow to simmer gently for about 10 minutes, until it's reduced to a syrupy glaze.
  6. Remove peaches from the grill, and brush sweet tea glaze on the flesh side of the grilled peaches.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
