Have you heard of flexitarianism? I hadn’t, until a few months ago, but I think that it describes me pretty well. I’m interested in incorporating more plant-based foods into my diet for my health and for environmental reasons, but I do still consume eggs, cheese and meat! Just not as often.

Flexitarism is an ethical way of eating that focuses on consuming healthy plant-based proteins and other whole, minimally processed plant-based foods, but encourages the consumption of animal products in moderation!

In general, I am happy to reduce my meat intake if the alternative still tastes good. I’ve been able to find a few veggie burgers that I enjoy, but if I’m being honest, it wasn’t until recently that I found a plant-based burger patty that I love as much as a normal beef hamburger!

Last week, when I was at my local Hy-Vee, I was looking in the meat section and I noticed Pure Farmlandplant-based products (that’s right, in the meat section!). I picked up Pure Farmland Simply Seasoned Burger Patties to give them a try. I absolutely love that they come in trays that are made with more than 50% recycled material! It’s always great to feel like you’re make an eco-conscious choice when you’re buying products!

That night, I fried them in the skillet for my family, and the reaction was amazing! My husband said they taste “just like” a beef burger. My son ate his Pure Farmland burger happily with no complaints. And I loved the taste, too! It was such an easy way to incorporate more plant-based protein into our weeknight dinners!

These burgers are already seasoned, so they can go straight into your grill or skillet with no prep time! I topped them with simple toppings like veggies and a non-dairy cheese slice. I also picked up a package of Pure Farmland Homestyle Meatballs. I can’t wait to make Spaghetti and Meatballs with them!

Something else to love? Pure Farmland has committed to protect a square foot of farmland for every Pure Farmland product that’s purchased! They’re working with the American Farmland Trust to fulfill this commitment.

There are other Pure Farmland options hitting the stores now, from meatballs to breakfast sausage! They seriously have such a great variety of products for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! They taste so great and I can feel good about serving them to my family!
