This viral Onion Boil recipe will be a new favorite in your house! It's a delicious baked onion stuffed with butter and seasonings, perfect for sharing. Serves four as a side dish.
Cut both ends off the onion. Peel it and core out the center using a melon baller or a spoon.
Stuff 2 tablespoons of butter in the center of the onion. Place on a sheet of aluminum foil.
Melt the remaining butter in a microwave safe bowl. Add all of the seasonings and whisk until well combined. Pour into the center of the onion. Wrap the onion tightly in aluminum foil to keep the juices in.
Bake for 90 minutes with a baking sheet under it to catch any juices that leak.
Remove and allow to cool for 5 minutes before unwrapping. Unwrap, and top with (optional) chili crisp. Drizzle with leftover butter mixture and juices from the foil.
I like to serve on a dinner plate, using a steak knife to cut it into four equal pieces for serving. Serve warm.
