Scrub the potatoes clean under running water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Pierce each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking.
Brush olive oil on all sides of the potatoes. You can also use cooking spray. Then, sprinkle with salt.
Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching each other.
Air fry for 60 minutes, flipping the potatoes halfway through the cooking time.
Once the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork, remove them from the air fryer. I recommend you use tongs to keep your hands safe, the potatoes will be hot!
Let the potatoes cool for a few minutes before slicing them open with a knife.
Notes
To check doneness, the potatoes should be easily pierced with a fork with no resistance. You can also squeeze the sides of the potato to see if they give under pressure.
