Prepare your grill to medium-high heat (about 400 degrees Fahrenheit).
Shuck and clean the corn, and make sure it is nice and dry.
Tear off a piece of aluminum foil, about one foot long per ear of corn.
Lay the corn on the sheet of aluminum foil, then brush each ear of corn with melted butter.
Then, sprinkle each ear of corn with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
You can also add other seasonings, like chili powder, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika or fresh herbs at this time.
Wrap the aluminum foil over the corn cob.
Place the wrapped corn directly on the hot grill grates. Grill over direct heat for 15-20 minutes, or over indirect heat for 20-30 minutes. Remove one ear from the grill and check for doneness. Add an additional 5 minutes if needed.
Allow corn to rest for 5 minutes before unwrapping from foil. Serve warm.
