Instructions
Prepare a large pot of boiling water to cook the wontons.
Boil wontons for 2 minutes. Drain in a colander. Set aside.
Next, make the chili oil sauce.
In a large heat-safe bowl, add the chili flakes, the white part of the green onions, minced garlic cloves and ginger. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, add the avocado oil. Heat over medium heat until it begins to gently bubble.
Pour the hot oil over the seasonings in the heat-safe bowl. Stir with a wire whisk.
Next, add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. The oil should still be warm. Stir until all sugar has dissolved.
Add the boiled wontons to the bowl. Toss until the wontons are coated in the chile oil.
Transfer to a serving bowl or dish.
Garnish with green part of the green onion and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
You can pre-make the chili oil before and allow it to sit at room temperature. It only gets better with time!
