This is my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe! This recipe makes chewier cookies, studded with chocolate chips and walnuts.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients:

vegetable shortening

granulated white sugar

brown sugar

pure vanilla extract
Dry ingredients:

cup all-purpose flour

baking soda
Add-ins:

semi-sweet chocolate chips

chopped walnuts

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper or cooking spray.
In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the wet ingredients, shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla till light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients.
Slowly add the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, one large spoonful at a time. Mix well.
Gently fold in the cup chocolate chips and walnuts.
Using a cookie scoop, drop dough balls 2 inches apart on your prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 9 -10 minutes or until the outside of the cookie starts to turn a light golden brown.
Remove from sheet immediately and transfer to a cooling rack or waxed paper.
Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before eating. Enjoy!
