Do you like happy chickens? I do! And guess what? Happy chickens make Happy Eggs!
I was raised on farm fresh eggs, so I’ve always been a bit picky about the eggs I buy. I look for eggs that have the intense yellow yolk and great flavor that I was raised on. When farmer’s markets are running, I can typically find some local farm eggs to buy. But during the other 9 months of the year, my go-to eggs are Happy Eggs!
Why Happy Eggs?
These eggs are made by happy chickens that can do everything they naturally would. Perch, explore, kick up dust, lay in the sun and flap their wings! They are free-range, meaning that they have the option to hang out in a shelter, or roam around in a field. Each Happy Egg farm has over 8 acres of outdoor space, different than “cage free” farms where there is no guarantee of outdoor access for the birds and permits just 1.5 square feet of space per bird inside a barn, or even other “free range” farms, where the minimum amount of outdoor space is just a 2 square feet requirement per bird, which is much less than Happy Eggs’ 21.8 square feet of outdoor space per hen that their farms provide.
Moreover, Happy Egg farms are LOCAL! There are 31 family farms in the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas that are producing Happy Eggs with their happy hens. Choosing Happy Egg keeps dollars with our local family-owned farmers, while still providing assurance that you’re purchasing quality, fresh eggs raised responsibly.
