This Dairy Free Ranch Dressing is made from plant based ingredients and has a delicious herb flavor!

What was your new years resolution? Most of us vow to get healthy. I know that was true for most of my friends and family. Many are focusing on diet, and some are tackling both their diet and exercise. There are several people in my life who are either choosing to avoid dairy in their diet, or are being diagnosed as sensitive or allergic to dairy.

I do eat dairy, although I enjoy my almond milk smoothies and yogurts, for sure! I always ask how it’s going, and most do talk about how much they miss certain things. Recently, a friend told me that she REALLY missed ranch dressing. She used to eat it on everything; salads, veggies, buffalo wings! So, I set out to develop a Dairy Free Ranch Dressing for her and for my other friends and family who are newly learning to cook recipes that are traditionally dairy heavy with plant based ingredients.

To make this Dairy Free Ranch Dressing, I visited my local Dillon’s store because I knew they would have the plant based ingredients I needed! They make it super easy to serve more natural, plant based and organic foods to your family this year through their Natural Foods Department. I bought Silk Dairy Free Yogurt (you can use Almond or Soy) and a splash of Silk Almond Milk, both unflavored. You just use a bit of the almond milk to loosen up the yogurt, along with a splash of vinegar to add some acidity. The yogurt, milk and vinegar are whisked with a ton of fresh and dried herbs including fresh chives, parsley, garlic and dill. I also add a splash of vinegar to give some needed acidity.
